Artist Statement

Making ceramics which are useful, balanced and can be used over and over agian is my primary goal. It is exciting for me to play with designs using combinations of different textrues, colors of clay and glazes. My inspiration mostly comes from nature. Often I include realistic plant depictions. I am also intrigued by the mathematical precision of repeating patterns. I enjoy getting challenged trying to fit different patterns on different sized and shaped pieces.

Working with my hands shaping the clay and creating different pieces brings me a lot of joy and it is very rewarding when people also like my pottery and find them useful in their everyday lives.
