Fall is here, and before you know it, the holidays will be upon us! Don’t forget to come down and see all the wonderful items we have available at the Gallery for holiday giving. Art makes a great gift!

Last month, we said goodbye to Roger Frey, as he departed the Gallery. Roger joined Artists Undertaking in 2007. Having studied in Italy, his works included etchings, pastels and sculpture. His most popular was the Diana Series, a very abstracted and modern take on painting with acrylics and pastels. In previous years, he would give demonstrations at the gallery. He also wrote and illustrated two children's books (one was "Gianna's First Regatta"). Shown is a photo of him working on a demo at the gallery. We will miss Roger and wish him all the best!

Stay tuned for the Artists’ Undertaking Gallery to be featured in an upcoming episode of WETA’s “If You Lived Here”, highlighting Historic Occoquan. Filming took place last November with Patti Durbin and Eleftheria Easley speaking about the unique history of our gallery and its present day vitality and relevance. The first six episodes of Season 4 will air on Mondays at 9 pm on WETA PBS and at 8 pm on WETA Metro, from Oct 28 through Dec 9, with no airings on Nov 18. Six more episodes will premiere in early 2025.

Accolades and Events

Congratulations to Eleftheria Easley. Eleftheria’s collaborative installation piece, “Tangible Connections in the Digital Age” along with two small works, have been selected for exhibit in the “Create - Inspire - Empower” show at the PARC at Tysons in partnership with mosaicARTS. The closing reception is on December 14 in conjunction with the Winter Market from 12:00 - 5:00 pm. The public vote for “Best in Show” will be announced then.

Eleftheria has also been selected to participate in the IDB Holiday Bazaar on 12 and 13 November, from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, in the splendid atrium of the Inter-American Development Bank, located at 1300 New York Avenue NW, Washington, DC.

Victoria Barnes and Eleftheria Easley will both have select print reproductions, notecards and ornaments as part of the “Cornucopia” show at the Van Landingham Gallery, Studio 311, within the Torpedo Factory Art Center. The show runs 1-30 November.

Congratulations to Janet Stoeke, who has three paintings in the "Among the Trees" show at the Strathmore Mansion in Rockville, MD. The show runs through November 7.
